Panthers News · Lady Panthers Volleyball Advance to Second Round

The Lady Panthers faced off against the Dutch Fork Silver Foxes on Thursday night. Carolina Forest hit the ground running, taking a commanding first set win led by Senior Kaitlyn Andresen’s big blocking at the net. The Silver Foxes came back firing in the second set, relying heavily on the big swings from their middle blockers. Despite their scrappy defense, the Panther’s late game rally just wasn’t enough to overcome the devastating blows from the Dutch Fork front row. In the third and fourth sets, Carolina Forest settled in and found their rhythm, surmounting the Lady Foxes with the setter/middle blocker combo of Avery Campbell and Emma Morgan, and some key defensive plays by Libero Fallon Tomlin and Defensive Specialist Maddie Dean. In the end, Carolina Forest topped Dutch Fork in an outstanding match, three sets to one. Carolia Forest moves on to the second round of playoffs, facing off at 6pm at home on Oct. 30 versus a tough Stratford team coming off of an upset victory.
