Panthers News · Wrestling Has a Great Showing at States

Wrestling completed their season this weekend at the SCHSL 5A State Individual Tournament.  Nazir Wynn and Matt Ashworth finished their high school careers. Nazir Wynn was a 1st time State qualifier and Matt Ashworth was a two time State qualifier. Isaiah Poppe finished the event with a 3rd place finish, going 3-1 on the weekend. In the consolation finals Poppe defeated the wrestler who initially beat him on Friday morning. Poppe is a sophomore and a 2 time State Qualifier. Rounding out our group was Noah Sritan. Sritan finished in 4th, having to medically default in the Consolation Finals due to a nasty black eye received during the Consolations Semifinals(which he won). Sritan is the first Panther to become 3 time State Qualifier at the 5A level. He has one more week of wrestling before his HS career is over. Noah will be wrestling at the North/South All-Star event this weekend at North Myrtle Beach High.
