Carolina Forest played its final region game against St. James Tuesday night and walked away with a victory, final score 5 – 0 Panthers. The Panthers played a very solid game and scored their first goal around the 9:00 minute mark of the game. The first goal was scored by #3 Lexi Lilly assisted by #15 Emma Hamilton on a pass from Hamilton’s left foot. Over the course of the first half there were some great chances for the Panthers but just a little unlucky that more goals were not scored. The next goal for Carolina Forest was from #7 Emma Bucci assisted by #10 Kacey Miller on a beautiful corner kick that Bucci was able to use her head to get the ball into the back of the net. The not long after this goal #3 Lexi Lilly was able to score again this time assisted by #11 Sidney Croland from the right side of the field this time. The halftime score was 3 – 0. At this point the Panthers were able to move some players around to different positions and try to put players in position to get some goals for the season. The first goal of the second half was scored by #14 Ally Niles after the pressure was put on the defender by #17 Paige Petrizzo. The final goal of the game was scored by #3 Lexi Lilly after she dribbled down past a couple of defenders to find the goal. The defense did their job tonight and kept the score at 0 for the entire game. The starting defense was #9 Abbie McCoy, #4 Katie Kulick, #13 Maddie Zettergren, #12 Gabby Giracello, and keeper #8 Cameron McWhorter. The Panthers are on spring break next week and then come back to play North Myrtle Beach for their final regular season game which will also be senior night. Great game ladies!
